Dispatch from the Front Line: Call. An. Election.
Put this lame government out of its misery.
Hey, friends.
Here we are once more. We covered the main programming note in last week’s dispatch, but if you missed it, we’re going to operate normally this week, but switch to holiday programming after that. The podcast will run as normal (we may record one episode in advance). During our time off, we will have plenty of fresh content for you, though — The Line is once again going to run its holiday gratitude series. Your Line editors and some of our contributors are going to share stories about things that they’re grateful for as one year ends and another begins. It’s our little way of trying to start 2025 with the right kind of energy.
You know what’s always good energy, though? Our podcast!
Tell your friends about us! Word of mouth is a huge part of our growth strategy. If you like us! Help us! And if you hate us, help us anyway! Like, subscribe, leaving glowing reviews, and all the rest. It all helps!
And now, on with the dispatch.
Whatever hope half your Line editors had about the prospect of Team Canada pulling together after that Mar-a-Lago visit by the Prime Minister was promptly dashed upon the rocks of a new geopolitical reality like so many early merchant sailing ships this week.
After what seemed to be a promising start, Donald Trump did what he does — he trolled Trudeau, teasing on social media about the prospect of Canada becoming a U.S. state.
Trudeau responded in kind — because, of course he did.
