Dispatch from the Front Line: What if things aren't going well, here?
Maybe we're sensitive about the Vice President's tweets because we fear he may have a point. At least we're not Ukraine, though...
Howdy, Line readers. Your editors are scattered all over the place but that’s no reason to deny you a dispatch.
And it wasn’t a reason to deny you an episode of The Line Podcast — this one is getting some attention, so check it out if you haven’t already.
Also check out our most recent episode of On The Line, where Matt Gurney was joined by Dan Seljak to discuss how left and right must combine to save our cities from their bureaucratic and political dysfunction. John Wright also pops in to share the story of a war hero you probably haven’t heard of, but should.
And now, on with the dispatch.
Every day in this country, thousands of people receive excellent, life-saving health care from a dedicated cadre of world-class medical professionals. Doctors, nurses, technicians, support staff and paramedics do unbelievably good work to keep Canadians alive and healthy, day in and day out. We are incredibly grateful to them, always.
But millions more Canadians are on the outside looking in, because the system that does so much good work is rooted in a failing model, and we are delighted to see what we hope is a major step toward its radical overhaul — and perhaps replacement — coming out of Alberta.
