The dog voted Conservative, probably.

Good Lord.

Thus concludes the dispatch.

We kid, but only barely. It’s been a wild few weeks. We are going to keep this dispatch reasonably snappy, because our plan is mostly just to reset to the present and then dive into covering the various overlapping aftermaths going forward from here. There’s a lot to cover.

And there’s no better way to start than by checking out the latest episode of The Line Podcast.

If that doesn’t scratch your podcast itch, we’ve got a great On The Line for you. Check out Jen’s interview with Patrick Lennox, author of On Treason, a new book examining the moral and political consequences of betraying one’s own country.

And now, God save us, on with the dispatch.

Firstly, about that referendum, eh?

Your Line editors have nothing more to say about the referendum, nor about Alberta separatism. Over the past year, they’ve poured every single word they could come up with on that topic onto podcasts and these here pages — and they’ve lost quite a few followers for their trouble. Very well.

Bluntly, we’d be entirely happy to forget the whole regrettable political stunt ever happened and simply move on.

Unfortunately, we’re peering into The Line Palantir and, whoo boy, nobody’s putting this orc baby birthed by evil magic back into the ground.
