Dispatch From the Front Lines: Santa Carney's coming to town

Also: U.S. booze to Alberta. U.S. Marines to Los Angeles, maybe. But no U.S. defensive munitions to Ukraine.

Prime Minister Mark Carney, wearing a suit, is seated at a desk with Canadian flags displayed behind him. He is looking down and writing notes on a paper.
He’s making a list, then he’ll check it twice …

Hello, Line readers. We hope you’re enjoying a great weekend. But no matter what kind of weekend you’re having, listening to the latest The Line Podcast will only improve it!

Also worth a watch: the latest On The Line, where Jen Gerson chats Charles III’s visit to Canada, and all other kinds of royal gossip, with Crown expert Patricia Treble.

We make our usual requests of you! Please like, subscribe and share widely. That means here at the main site, of course, but also on our distribution channels: Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and all the others. A nice review helps, too!

A programming note: we are now onto our second weekend of June, which means that we’ll soon be taking a bit of a summer holiday. In a week or so, a special message will go out to our paid subscribers only, seeking questions for another The Line Podcast Q&A-style episode. Our paid subscribers will get a special post where they’ll be able to leave questions for us, and we’ll record an episode where we do our best to answer as many as possible. (With a few more rules than we had last time, just to keep things manageable!) We will take the first week of July off from podcasting, but otherwise expect to keep up a more or less normal schedule over the summer.

Please do not leave your questions in this post — we will send our a special post for the questions once we’re ready to receive them (gotta keep the logistics clean). But the last one was a lot of fun and you guys clearly enjoyed it, too. Excited to do another. Watch for details soon.

And now, on with the dispatch.
