The ethics of a toaster or a doorbell are identical to the ostensible ethics of a data aggregation and search machine.

On the other hand, what is reprehensible are the ethics and hubris of lazy-minded people content to let automation fill in for thinking.

Let me simplify things for you, Jen: the problem with AI is the "I"--there isn't any. AI is a tape recorder with a sophisticated Search function.
