37:30 Until the candidate's nomination paper doesn't require the Leader's signature, the caucus will not grow a big enough pair to manage the Leader's excesses.
I thought this was an excellent Line podcast because it brought in alternative voices that had something interesting to say. I appreciate that.
Ian Lee pro-tariff arguments for Trump (even if they weren't his own beliefs) was helpful as it provided an argument for the Trump faction's moves other than "they're stupid". I liked this steel manning.
Jamie Carroll also did a good job and he's someone I'd like to hear from more going forward as an occasional counter to the more conservative lean of the podcast. He did a strong job of representing the Liberal side. While he's partisan, he avoided the trap of giving (a) talking points or (b) incoherent pablum.
In both cases, I learned more about perspectives outside my own. A+ episode for this.
1:02 Safe supply, catch & release, flat economy, nagging about Canadian racism. These are the issues Canadians face. They don't face Ukraine, Pakistan/India, China/US tariffs. Your privilege is showing.
So the 51st state silliness was just mass hysteria? Who knew.
Canada an economic vassal state? Last week a La Presse columnist stated the idea of economic independence from the US economy was a pipe dream, so all together now...
The interview with the LPC shill was hardly "Hard Talk". No oil pipeline east though. M. Legault vetoed it long ago any way.
Perhaps interview M. Plamondon of the Parti Québécois to get a sense of what the future holds, as Quebecers have been the most sophisticated of voters for 4 decades, at least.
I have lost confidence in the Federal govt especially after the cabinet appointment. These folks are far from serious about tackling any issue. I think Western separation is going to become a reality.
Matt, I doubt that you realized your thoughts on Pierre Poilievre running in the power center of Eastern Canada came across tone deaf. Western Canada is worthy of having a Party Leader represent a riding. I get what you were trying to say, but you said it against a flood of Western Alienation sentiment. And said it about constituents who feel the Canadian system gives no Representation.
Very good interview. My one concern about the analysis provided by your guest is that the concerns about Canada’s performance is not real and is just generated by social media. If the Liberals truly believe that, then Carney is going to walk down the same road as Wynne did.
I fully understand that PP does rub people the wrong way but for Jamie to say that he is the type of person that would cheat on his taxes was a prick statement. Want to have a proper discussion on the taxes that Canadians are drowning in? How about Carney’s tax status? Didn’t think so.

42:46 Guilbault is still in Cabinet, Carney's Values says oil is bad, Quebec still won't agree to pipelines.
It looks like Trudeau 2.0 without the silly sox.

Just chiming in to say I liked the interviews. 🤷♂️
33:30 Remember the unsigned letter "requesting" that JT leave? Gonads? Not there then.
