That was enjoyable (particularly the dyspeptic Liberal’s description of Trump). But if you want an anti-panel why have partisans on at all? Just get smart folks who know politics.
Finally, I remain mystified why anyone thinks that Carney’s the guy to handle Trump. He’s just the kind of elitist Davos dude that Maga types hate. They’ll eat him alive, no?
I love the Anti-Panel idea, and I think it'll work best in written format where each panelist can focus on a thoughtful response. If I'm being honest, I felt that the constructive/refreshing approach got lost in the quips and snark that naturally veered back towards partisanship. The people you got are interesting (of course! no surprises there), and I look forward to hearing their responses as the campaign goes on.
I enjoyed the episode, but I knew the "anti-panel" concept was doomed before it began. The "anti" part mostly consisted of backhanded compliments (Poilievre being a great opposition leader, etc). But setting the premise aside, I liked the episode and Jen's moderation.
Yeah, I found that the idea of the anti-panel is great, but the panelists were constantly trying to revert back to partisan mode, thus kinda nullifying the good intentions
Love the concept of having to give advice and kudos to your opponents. Folks still get heated enough to make it interesting, but that parameter keeps it more thoughtful I feel. Curious for the next one, if they can keep it up.
If Kim thinks the NDP is quietly going to knock it out of the park then welcome Prime Minister Poilievre! Jagmeet is an anchor for that party and the sooner they figure it out the better. and my final thought is god help us if Eastern Canadians decide that 4 more years of liberal party rule is what this country needs....we have been run aground so hard that this ship is barely afloat if not permanently sunk.
second last thought. regardless of how you feel about the president, the reality is that he is trying to create a very competitive capital environment in the US which will force all countries to meet or exceed those conditions to attract investment. Its just the reality that we all have to deal with. If we don't do what we have to so we can stand on our own two feet then we will continue on our downward spiral. Those GDP per capita comparisons we have all seen should be 5 alarm red flags for everyone. the consequences are significant.
Waiting for the YouTube session but it won’t be on until 7pm Eastern time. Guys - any chance you could release it at 6pm which is 7 pm Atlantic for us Maritimers who have to get up at 4:30 in the morning? Thanks
This may seem like an off the wall, or perhaps inappropriate comment, but truly no disrespect is intended. Have you seen the facebook ad of Jagmeet Singh showing how he puts his turban on while talking about his life and how his experiences helped form his policy intentions? Well, I did and so did a lot of women on facebook. WOW. Has anyone seen a poll of the NDP's favorability from women voters? I would like to know because I'm betting his polling data from women has greatly improved.
I would way rather scrub my toilets - hell, the entire bathrooms - than watch Singh turbanizing while speaking. Ick. Salivating over propping up Liberals in another minority no doubt - most media attention he's ever had.
A plea for the panel that will likely not be possible.
I don't hear at all well; rotten actually. I have to use headphones and I oh so treasure closed captioning on videos. Which is, of course, not available on an only audio feed.
So, my plea is that you do this with video that is able to provide closed captioning.
Ken, all podcasts are transcribed by AI on either the Substack main page (you might have to be on a computer to benefit from that, though — not sure it works on mobile), or via YouTube.

There was nothing polite about one of your guests. While I don't like Trump the language used was vulgar and kind of off-putting.

Hey Chris, we're tinkering with the strategy, so maybe? But six pm Eastern is probably too early for the West. No perfect answer to this problem set.

Thank you, Sir.
I do use a computer for your podcast but I guess that means that I need to go directly to the Substack page rather than use the link in the email.
Again, thank you.
enjoyed this format !
Thumbs-up for the Godzilla reference in the title.
