An absolutely delightful read. Thank you!

What a laugh.

Is there any chance that the lack of skill to translate the thick Scottish brogue was directly linked to consuming alcohol served in fishbowls? And spiked by numerous pints thereafter?

I find it helps, actually.

Lol.

I enjoy Britbox TV, but have to admit that it takes lots of volume and careful attention to pick up the various dialects and slang deployed.

Reminds me of impromptu nights in hostels in my youth. I look forward to this type of travel again with my husband when our kids are grown.

Love this. I have a contact in my phone as “Philly Jane”. We met after a Blue Jays vs. Phillies game in Dunedin, but connected over our shared Eagles fanship. She has promised to give me an excellent tour of Philadelphia, complete with the two best cheese steaks for me to compare.

Excellent story. When I travel some of the most interesting and memorable moments are casual conversations with strangers. As an example I discovered that there are Pickerel in the Rio Grande river in New Mexico because of a chat with some fishermen from El Paso. Cheers
