Thanks! Great live stream. I appreciate the group therapy session in the last hour or so. I struggle like many others to understand or explain. There is a deep rot that has settled in here. Many don't want to see it or cant emotionally process it that's why they lash out at those that point it out. There are many reasons, cultural, political etc. Its a great example that policy choices really matter. Its become apparent to me that we have a deeply divided country, not just geographically but demographically as well. The really hard choices to make changes are not supported by the "keep it all the same" constituents vs the "blow it all up" constituents. We are in terminal decline as Jen says. Our young talented people will leave, we will ride this down until all the boomers are dead. Maybe it will get bad enough that we will demand change in 20 years or so but unfortunately it will be too late. People don't like change but we need our Asshole Canada moment immediately. Abandon protectionism, export led growth, actively courting foreign direct investment, tax reform, investment in education and technology, reformed IP legislation, the government needs to get out of the way. I could go on and on...
Had to leave early, I'm afraid. Looking forward to watching the full monte when family life won't intrude. Can't wait to see if Jen got "nicely" (as my friends in Ireland say) with the wine , and if Matt deigned to modify the colour of his backdrop into something more "garoombaish" [sp!!].
