I didn’t expect any better. But one can always live in hope. many of us in healthcare have been dreading this moment when they ignored the warnings in February. And it’s hard to understand how even Doug Ford could be so wilfully obtuse and blatantly political. We have a right to be sad, angry and disgusted. And now we’ll just get on with it best we can.

What is missing form all of this is what TheLine editor’s stance actually is on how to deal with Covid. Is it, as appears to be the case from last week, that vaccines have won the battle so any form of lockdown is unnecessary? The changing data on hospitalizations and ICU’s doesn’t seem to support that view. https://www.theglobeandmail.com/canada/article-coronavirus-cases-canada-world-map-explainer/#

I have yet to read anything concrete here on the perception of modelling, although I get the feeling that the site’s view is that modelling is a form of fear mongering which provides the state an excuse to remove civil liberties. Would love to have some clarification on that.

Ok, Ford is no Einstein, we can all agree on that. But Einsteins are in short supply generally, and I don't know just who you might want to nominate for that designation. But there's something about his brute determination, his refusal to give up even when he's unsure of what he's doing, that is slightly reassuring.

I write this from Vancouver Island, where our own Premier Jackass called an election for the most transparently cynical reason last fall, then came out the other day lambasting the young for 'ruining this for us' with their cavalier behavior. Trade you for Ford, straight up.

And then we have, of course, the drama teacher and his sock puppet, the WHO cultist, who excel at rationalizing their serial blunders while putting on their daily pep rally for the sycophants of the CBC and other 'journalists.' Not to mention the millions of Canadians who elected and still apparently support these pitiful phonies.

The pandemic has nothing on the epidemic of self-delusion we're wallowing in.

Sorry, blaming the electorate for the boss is never on. Though I started skimming after "Australian Police State".

What I expected from The Line is something better than "Australian Police State", frankly. Rant better.

When the history of this is written, the greatest gambit will be how the old convinced the young it was too risky to live.
