Well, the world is exploding, so let’s cover the housekeeping as fast as possible and then get right into it.
A programming note: The Line is holding a live event in Calgary this week. In addition to some snacks and drinks with our guests, we’ll be recording the next The Line Podcast in front of our fans on Friday night, Mountain time. We sold out a long time ago and are very excited to meet and hang out with you all in a few days. Because of that, though, there will be a change in our podcast schedule. The plan is to run two episodes of On The Line next week, on Tuesday and Friday, and then, early the next week, release The Line Podcast episode that we will record before a live studio audience in Calgary this week. And then get back to a normal schedule after that. Adjust your listening schedules accordingly! And we’ll see you in Calgary.
Speaking of podcasts, here is this week’s The Line Podcast, including Jen live and on location at the Canada Strong and Free Conference in Ottawa.
The audio version is here, and there’s lots of links there, as well, to find a streaming app of your choice.
Remember: with On The Line launching in full in a few weeks — targeting end of month or first week of May — you won’t want to miss an episode. Finding a place where you can sign up to get our podcasts, and leave us a glowing review or a like, is more important than ever. Help us help you!

And now, onto the nightmare of Saturday.
Astute listeners of the last episode of The Line Podcast, meaning those devoted diehards who actually stuck it out to the very end, will have heard Matt Gurney flag for Jen Gerson's attention that he had been hearing scuttlebutt of an imminent danger of an Iranian attack on Israel. Most of this was simply online speculation that he had noticed, some came from some of his chats with sources in the region. Based on when your intrepid Line editing duo began recording the podcast, Gurney's remark noting the buzz would have been at about 2 o’clock Eastern time on Friday.
It was about 26 hours later that all hell began to break loose.
