So angry mobs interfering with a Liberal event is cause for concern, when angry mobs storming Energy East hearings or blocming railway crossings wasn't? (comment directed at the government, not The Line)
I keep thinking that Trudeau is going after private MRIs in Saskatchewan and not Ontario and Quebec is because Saskatchewan is a CPC stronghold but there are two other parties in Saskatchewan that express distaste towards the current PM.
If Trudeau can piss off enough CPC voters and turn them into Maverick or PPC voters he may be able to get a couple of NDP, or, God forbid!, Liberals in the province, that is a win for him. |
IOW, a vote for the Maverick party could be a vote for Justin Trudeau....
Surprised the Liberal brain trust singled out SK. AB has had private diagnostic imaging, both outsourced by Alberta Health Services and available out of pocket, for going on 2 decades. Kenney in hiding is either keeping the province out of the cross hairs, or the wizards behind the curtain are reserving their AB bashing until afer the Sep long. weekend when more people will be paying attention.
Trudeau knows Canadians give the benefit of the doubt to the left and that a large chunk of the NDP base will really around him if he is projected as the victim. It's his hope, but it will be a hard hill to climb to achieve victimhood status.
I was truly disturbed that security concerns resulted in a canceling of a stop for the PM. I worry that we will head down the road followed by our neighbor's to the south, and was relieved at the reactions, of the CPC and NDP Leaders. The other concerning trend I saw from the last week or so, was Police interfering with Journalist attempting to cover protests. I can think of no good reason for this, and have asked the city to explain why it happened.
I have to wonder- is opposing vaccine mandates and passports really a view that can only be regarded as on the fringe? Isn't this a view that makes sense to a lot of people? If not, I really am surprised. If my political opposite opposes them, then I'm for it; is that all the thought that went into it? I am hoping it is a silent majority type of thing.
The rally highlighted was certainly a whipped-up mob acting as a mob, and it won't be an opportunity that will go to waste. Of what I've seen and heard, it feels female (moms especially) led. I'm not judging but it is an interesting observation, I think.
We've written in a previous dispatch that there are sound philosophical objections to both vaccine passports and mandates. Further, the mandate the Liberals are suggesting is, in practice, identical to what the CPC is proposing.
Thanks for the reply, good reminder to have clarity. First post so I'll get better (or bitter)! Provinces for the passport and feds for the mandates. It was a post more for the general public, rather than your reporting specifically. I honestly thought a passport or coerced vaccinations was crossing the Rubicon to most people and I'm starting to see that's maybe not the case. Worried that anti-vaxxers was becoming shorthand and I'll advocate always a delineation between what I think I'm about and "the fringe". I'd rather focus not on the fringe but on the professional managerial class, I think the source of many of today's problems. Thanks!
Err, we also did not read this whole thing; but for the record, we're not opposed to private delivery models and tried to note that they are, in fact, in wide use across the country.
I apologize as I did not state my case well. Trudeau called this election for more power and to hide why the CCP was in the Winnipeg Lab.Just as he prorogued Parliament to hide the WE scandal. He does not care for the health and safety of Canadians or he would not have called this election when he knew the outbreak was hitting Canada. He has spent the last six years dividing Canadians in every and any way possible. He did nothing as we were inundated by angry protesters stopping our supply chain and performing illegal and dangerous acts causing financial and other hardships to Canadians. Same with the mass protest in his last election when his friend Greta showed up. Trudeau has caused more division and hatred in Canada than any Prime Minister in our history. From disallowing funding to Christians, the burning of churches, and his hatred of Alberta has caused many to despise this horror show of a Prime Minister. He has threatened our jobs, security, and financially devastated many since being in office but no one is allowed to protest his campaign and yell well earned names at him. It’s ok when he and his followers do this to stop pipelines or any form of progress they dislike along with other divisive and horrific acts endangering Canadians and causing property damage as well. He deserves worse name calling after what he has put many through and did so with a grin. He should be in jail for corruption and causing the division and hatred we see in this country, not campaigning for Prime Minister of this country. No one should have the right to stop protests even name calling ones. He deserves to be called names as he has done his fair share of name calling out to Canadians,
Appreciate your second stab at'er, it is fair to say he's due name calling and hope it remains at that level (as I now know you do too). I myself don't like name calling but I concede it's basically in the same camp as satire, with satire being a smidge more clever. Chirping has its merits. Also, this she-lection makes me say she-esh!
I appreciate your quote. I can relate to it well. The edit, edit, and edit some more was thrown out the window on my first attempt. I must remember not to reply when I am hangry as well. I apologize for my long winded word salad that was somewhat over tossed and runny. Lol

I don't think that opposition to mandatory vaccination or vaccine passports is a fringe position, fwiw.

Well yes, but also no.
I did not advocate for violence, just name calling.

There I made it one paragraph now.
