Further to "Make it a point of performing at least one deliberate act of kindness a day. It’s good for the soul," I would add doing acts of kindness are good for a person's mental health, too. Moreover, there are no adverse side effects. Even acts of kindness done for selfish reasons, improve mental health. Compassion and kindness are very powerful 'drugs.'
