I generally don’t disagree but I find the phrase that the pandemic has been especially “hard on governments” a bit of a giveaway on seeing everything through a political lens. Yes it has been hard on governments but it’s actually been especially hard on the hundreds of thousands of people desperately trying to pay the rent/mortgage and the elderly who have been dying. So much commentary these days just wrings its hands over the political implications for these party or that party. What about the people?
