Love the shorter format. Conversation kept to the point. Realize that you did the podcast after you had written your article and maybe that’s something you wish to consider going forward so that the podcast serves as a summation of the points that you raise in your main article. Thus if people want to find out more info, then direct them to read your material.

Also was very interested in CNN+ so I looked it up on line and it was supposed to be a streaming type of service but it was not available in Canada. Not surprised that there was a rethink about it after Netflix posted dismal results. However CNN.com is pretty substantive in their news department but lacking in video content so why not expand it to include original programming? I’m not a media expert by any stretch of the imagination but I sense there are opportunities here.

Thanks for your hard work and I enjoy your articles! Please keep up the good work.

Where to start?

I think that inflation was coming at us before this and we just never saw it. The government numbers excluded housing but guess what? It a huge chunk of everyones budget. Add 400,000 immigrants and screw up the supply chain that actually makes houses and suddenly you have a monster. Plywood prices still haven't come down here and I can't get a set of tires for my care at Canadian Tire unless I pay a premium. But the mantra is that immigration is good but so is beer until you have had 5 or 6. Is it the only issue? No! We have cargo ships backed up from China, Shanghi is locked down and Xi Jinping is feeling a bit grumpy with us too. In the "shoulda, woulda, coulda " category, we might have held off on immigration until restaurants actually hit full capacity again.

On the CNN+ failure, it appears as though Fox News is cleaning up, with MSNBC coming in second, and CNN lagging. It is almost as though trying to be centrist in media is almost as deadly as being centrist politically. Don't treat that as prophetic though, love the work!

With respect Canada regulating the internet, the Liberals look like the little boy with their finger in the dike. It will be impossible to control and the CRTC will come to look like a joke. The real problem however is that our legal system is 19th century and our telecom is 21st century ( well in most places).

Don't worry about the background noise. There's another channel I follow, on one episode there was simultaneous baby crying, dog barking, and home renovation noise. I think they have twins. Didn't matter, the content was great.

If you're taking requests/suggestions, I would love a deep dive on the modelling topic. It seems like snake oil, and there are other big policy decisions being made based on them (eg climate).

Like the long version more than the short version. Love the content though!

Peter Badenoch: Off-stage noises -- dogs and kids -- are no more damaging to the worth of the podcast than when Glenn Gould used to hum along while piano-playing.

I like your experimental Line podcast 0.03. It’s preferable to me because I find it undesirable to devote a full hour listening to a conversation between 2 people. In my view you both had sufficient time to make your opinions and observations in this 34 min podcast. Now if you sacrificed important and stimulating subjects because of the time limitation then a longer podcast might be warranted. My vote is for 30 min podcasts.
